Chapter 10 - The New DawnThe conference room at Sterling Asset Recovery was filled to capacity, but this time, the atmosphere was entirely different. Gone were the nervous, compromised cronies who had helped Ethan build his house of cards. In their place sat brilliant forensic accountants, top-tier compliance attorneys, and independent board members dedicated to financial transparency and justice.

As I walked through the double doors, every person at the table stood in unison. Not out of fear, as they once had for Ethan, but out of profound, hard-earned respect.
I took my seat at the head of the table, resting my hands calmly on the dark wood. The bandages were gone now, replaced by smooth, pale skin that caught the morning light streaming through the floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the financial district.
"Good morning, everyone," I said, my voice carrying steady and clear across the room. "Let’s begin by reviewing our new mandate: recovering every hidden asset, exposing every fraudulent shell corporation, and ensuring that no one ever mistakes a survivor's patience for surrender again."
A chorus of quiet nods rippled through the room as notebooks opened and pens began to scratch against paper.
Far away, behind the thick concrete walls and barbed wire of a maximum-security federal penitentiary, a broken man in an orange jumpsuit was staring blankly at a television screen, watching my face broadcast across national news as the most formidable asset recovery specialist in the country.
