Chapter 17 - The Unseen ShadowBack at the Sterling estate, the warning words from Daniel lingered in the back of my mind like a low-frequency hum. I sat in my private study reviewing international asset tracking logs when Clara walked in, placing a fresh dossier on my desk.

"You're working too late again," she noted gently, pouring a cup of black coffee and setting it beside my hand.

"Daniel mentioned someone before he was transferred," I said without looking up from the monitor. "Vanessa's sister. Her name is Victoria. According to public records, she’s lived in Europe for the last ten years, completely detached from the family scandals."

Clara frowned, pulling up a chair beside me. "Ten years abroad? That's awfully convenient. Do we have any financial ties linking her to Martin or Vanessa?"

"That's just it," I said, tapping a key to bring up a classified international wire trail. "There are no direct links. But look at this shell company registered in Zurich last week—V-Holdings. It just bought thirty-five percent of our primary supply chain vendor in Singapore."

Clara leaned in closer, her eyes scanning the encrypted data streams. "If she controls our primary supplier, she can choke our manufacturing lines right before the global product launch next month."

"Exactly," I said, turning to look at her. "She isn't acting out of anger like Vanessa did. She's calculating, patient, and completely invisible."
