Chapter 4 - Unraveling the Web"Sit down, everyone," I commanded, pulling out my chair and remaining standing at the head of the table.

Vanessa’s face went from pale to a dangerous, burning crimson. "This is a stunt! A sick, manipulative trick! You lied to everyone—you let us think you were broken!"

"I let you reveal your true colors," I corrected coldly. I gestured to Clara, who began distributing the folders to the remaining board members. "Open page one. That document details the intentional tampering with the brake lines of my vehicle three months ago."

The color drained entirely from Martin’s face. He grabbed the edge of the table to steady himself.

"What... what is this nonsense?" Martin stammered, sweating profusely. "You crashed because of bad weather!"

"The weather was clear, Uncle," I replied softly, leaning over the table toward him. "And the forensic report from my private security team—overseen by federal experts—shows that the bolt was cleanly sawed through. Furthermore, the insurance payout policy was modified two weeks before the crash. Guess whose digital signature authorized the rider?"

Marcus Vance stepped forward, sliding a certified tablet onto the table right in front of Martin. "Martin Sterling, you are looking at federal charges for attempted corporate assassination, insider trading, and wire fraud. Federal marshals are waiting outside."

Vanessa backed away from the table, her hands trembling violently. "No... no, this has nothing to do with me! I didn't know anything about the car!"

I turned my gaze slowly toward her, my eyes devoid of any warmth. "Really, Vanessa? Then explain why your personal corporate account received a wire transfer of five hundred thousand dollars from Martin's offshore shell company forty-eight hours after the accident."

Silence descended upon the room so heavy you could hear the hum of the air conditioner.
