Chapter 11 - THE ULTIMATE BETRAYAL

Harrison didn’t flinch at the news of his father’s death. There was no grief left in his heart for the man who had orchestrated misery for decades—only a cold, hollow realization that toxic legacies died hard.

“If you came here looking for a bailout, Victoria, you picked the wrong door,” Harrison said flatly, motioning to his guards. “Escort her off the premises and hand her over to the federal marshals waiting at the gate. She’s an accessory to kidnapping and corporate fraud.”

“Wait!” Victoria shrieked, pulling a thick envelope from inside her trench coat. “You think you’ve won everything, Harrison? You think you defeated the Sterling bloodline? Look at this!”

She tossed the envelope across the desk. It slid across the polished wood, stopping inches from Sarah’s hand.

“What is that?” Sarah asked, her voice trembling slightly as she looked down at the frayed manila folder.

“Open it,” Victoria whispered with a malicious grin. “It’s the medical background check your precious billionaire didn't bother to run before he brought you into his high-society world. Read it, Sarah. Read what your little triplets actually carry in their DNA.”

Harrison stepped forward, knocking the folder off the desk before Sarah could touch it, but Victoria’s words had already landed like a physical blow.

“Get her out of my sight!” Harrison roared.

Two security guards grabbed Victoria by the arms, dragging her screaming out of the library as her laughter echoed down the long hallway.

When the heavy doors slammed shut, the silence returned, heavier and more suffocating than before.

Sarah looked up at Harrison, her eyes wide with sudden terror. “What was she talking about, Harrison? What’s in that folder?”

Harrison knelt beside her, taking her hands in his. “Nothing, Sarah. It’s just lies. Victoria is desperate and unstable.”

“Look me in the eyes and tell me that,” Sarah whispered, her voice breaking. “What is wrong with my children?”
