Chapter 18 - A New HorizonAfter the keynote speech, I retreated to a private VIP lounge backstage, letting out a long, quiet breath. The adrenaline of the stage slowly faded, replaced by a deep, grounding sense of peace.

Kenji was leaning against the doorway, holding two glasses of sparkling water. He handed me one, raising his own in a silent toast.
"You know, Boss," Kenji said with a rare, genuine smile. "If someone told me five years ago that an orphan from Chicago would completely dismantle the Vance dynasty and rewrite the global tech market in under a year, I would have laughed in their face."
I took a sip of the sparkling water, looking out the private window at the panoramic view of the Swiss Alps bathed in the golden glow of the setting sun.
"People underestimate what a person can do when they have nothing left to lose," I said softly. "Evelyn thought she was burying me in Tokyo. She didn't realize she was planting a seed."
"So, what's next for Aegis Holdings?" Kenji asked. "Conquer Silicon Valley? Acquire the remaining European telecommunication networks?"

I turned away from the window, my eyes sharp, focused, and entirely free of the ghosts of my past.
"No, Kenji," I smiled, setting my glass down on the table. "We don't need to conquer anymore. We own the board now. Let's just watch how the rest of the world plays."
