Chapter 8 - The Unraveling of the EmpireBack in Zurich, the boardroom air was thick with tension that you could cut with a knife.

"This is completely irregular!" one of Julian’s loyal board members shouted, standing up from his seat. "You cannot unilaterally alter the merger terms without the secondary signatures of Julian and Evelyn Vance!"
I didn't blink. I simply slid a certified legal document across the mahogany table toward him.
"Read page four, paragraph nine, Thomas," I said coldly.
Thomas snatched up the paper, his eyes scanning the dense legal jargon. As he read, his face turned the color of ash. He slowly sank back down into his chair, unable to meet my gaze.
"What does it say?" Kurozawa asked, leaning forward with sharp curiosity.
"It says," I stated clearly for the entire room to hear, "that the entire seed capital, intellectual property rights, and foundational patents belonging to Vance Enterprises were originally registered under my pre-nuptial corporate shield. Julian didn't build this empire. He inherited a shell, and I funded its resurrection."
I stood up slowly, placing both hands flat on the table and leaning forward.
"If Julian and Evelyn want to retain a single share of their family company, they will have to come to me on their knees and beg for mercy. And right now? They're currently freezing in an airport holding cell in Alaska."
A collective gasp echoed around the boardroom.

"Now," I said, a dangerous smile touching the corners of my lips. "Does anyone else have any objections to the new merger terms, or shall we sign?"
Within thirty seconds, thirty pens clicked in unison. The vote was unanimous.
