Chapter 7 - The RevelationBack inside the bulletproof safety of Dante’s private armored SUV, the heavy leather interior felt like a sanctuary compared to the warehouse.

Dante wrapped his expensive cashmere coat around Lena’s trembling shoulders, his hands still shaking as he brushed a stray strand of hair from her face. His usual stoic, impenetrable armor was completely stripped away, leaving only raw, desperate remorse.
"I'm sorry," Dante whispered, his forehead resting gently against hers in the dim cabin light. "I am so, so sorry, Lena. If I had known they were watching you... if I had been paying attention instead of drowning in my own arrogance... I should never have let you leave that penthouse."
Lena looked into his dark, tortured eyes. The anger that had sustained her for weeks felt heavy and exhausting. She realized she couldn't keep running—not just because of the danger from rivals like Victor, but because the truth she was keeping could no longer be hidden.
She took a slow, deep breath, placing her hands flat against Dante’s chest—right where Sofia’s hands had been that fateful anniversary night.
Dante flinched slightly at the gesture, thinking she was about to push him away again.
Instead, Lena slid her hands down, taking his large, calloused hand and pressing it firmly against her lower abdomen.
Dante froze. He looked down at her hand over her stomach, bewildered. "Lena? What are you...?"
"Dante," she whispered, her voice breaking slightly as tears welled up in her eyes. "You asked me why I was so angry. You asked why I couldn't just forgive you and come back."
"I know I messed up—"
"I’m pregnant," she interrupted softly.
The interior of the SUV went dead silent. You could have heard a pin drop on the carpeted floor. Dante stopped breathing entirely. His dark eyes widened in profound, absolute shock, staring down at her stomach as if he had just been struck by lightning.
"What...?" Dante breathed, his voice barely audible. "What did you just say?"
"Twins, Dante," Lena said, a tear finally spilling over her lashes. "Two weeks ago, after I left you, I went to the doctor because I was sick. I found out we're having twins."

Dante stared at her, his mind struggling to process the monumental weight of her words. He looked from her eyes down to his hand, which was resting right over the tiny lives growing inside her. A profound, overwhelming wave of emotion crashed over the ruthless mafia king—fear, awe, unimaginable joy, and a terrifying sense of unworthiness.
"Twins..." Dante choked out, a rare, choked sob escaping his throat as his eyes filled with tears. He pressed his face gently against her shoulder, his arms wrapping around her with a fierce, protective desperation that made it clear: nobody would ever hurt his family again.
