Chapter 11 - The Awakening Command

Isabella’s chilling words hung in the warm air of the sunroom like a sudden arctic frost. Before Victor could draw his weapon, Isabella pressed a concealed button on the underside of her wristband.
A high-pitched, sub-audible tone pulsed through the estate.
On the lawn outside, all five children froze simultaneously. Their laughter died instantly. As if responding to an unseen puppet master, they turned in unison and began marching toward the private dock where a sleek, black sub-surface craft had silently emerged from the ocean depths.
"Victor, do something!" Evelyn shrieked, slamming her body against the reinforced glass door of the sunroom.
Victor lunged at Isabella, but his former wife moved with terrifying, preternatural speed. She struck a nerve cluster on Victor’s neck, dropping the billionaire to his knees, gasping for air. "You were always too emotional, Victor," Isabella whispered into his ear. "That was your father’s greatest disappointment in you."
Evelyn threw herself at Isabella, grabbing her twin sister by the throat. The physical contact sent a sudden shockwave through both women—a phantom neural flare created by their identical biological makeup. Images flashed through Evelyn’s mind: cold metal tables, glowing blue fluid, and a voice whispering, The control subject must never know.
Isabella gasped, momentarily paralyzed by the unexpected neural backfire. Evelyn tackled her to the floor, but Isabella kicked her off with lethal tactical precision. Isabella didn't stay to fight; she shattered the glass patio doors, diving through the opening and racing toward the dock.
"Sophie!" Evelyn screamed, throwing herself out the broken window, her feet bleeding from glass shards as she tore across the grass.
At the edge of the dock, Sophie stepped onto the platform of the black craft. Just before the hatch closed, the little girl turned. The cold, blank look in her blue eyes flickered for a fraction of a second. A single tear rolled down her cheek.

"Mommy..." Sophie’s voice echoed across the water, frail and broken.
Then the hatch sealed shut, and the submarine submerged into the dark ocean, leaving only ripples on the surface.
