Chapter 7 - The Unseen Link
A cold chill ran down Evelyn’s spine. Victor rushed over, kneeling beside the children.
“What cage, Sophie? Where is she?” Victor asked urgently.
Sophie didn’t look at Victor. She looked directly at Evelyn. “The underwater room. Where the cold needles live.”
Evelyn’s mind raced back to two years ago—the cold clinic room in Bern, the sterile smell of antiseptics, the sensation of needles before she was told her baby was dead. She realized with a sudden, horrifying clarity: the children weren't just genetically identical; their neural pathways had been linked during incubation. They were sharing subconscious memories, communicating through a latent synthetic link implanted by Project EOS.
“Isabella isn’t running the project from Blackwood Isle,” Evelyn realized, her eyes widening in horror. “She’s a prisoner there!”
Victor pulled up the architectural blueprints of Blackwood Isle, an isolated, fortified research station off the coast of Switzerland. Beneath the main mansion lay a sub-oceanic laboratory complex labeled Facility Alpha.

“The board took control of the facility after my father died,” Victor said, connecting the pieces. “They kept Isabella alive in stasis to continually harvest her cellular material for Phase Two!”
“Then we aren’t just going there to get answers,” Evelyn said, her eyes flashing with determination. “We’re going there to destroy the board and end this nightmare forever.”
