Chapter 18 - The Final StandA loud explosion rocked the server room door.

Rossi’s men had planted an electronic breaching charge. The wooden door splintered outward in a cloud of smoke and flying splinters.
"Get down!" Alejandro yelled, shielding Valeria with his body as they dropped behind a row of heavy server racks.
Donato Rossi stepped through the smoking wreckage of the door, a pistol gleaming in his hand. He scanned the dimly lit room, a cruel grin spreading across his face.
" oyun bitdi (The game is over)," Rossi muttered, stepping forward. "Hand over the drive, Alejandro, and maybe I'll let your little maid walk away."
Valeria stayed low behind the server rack, her hand sliding quietly across the cold concrete floor until her fingers brushed against a heavy steel wrench left behind by the maintenance crew.
She looked up at Alejandro. He gave her a microscopic nod, communicating a lifetime of unspoken trust in a single second.
"You're too late, Rossi," Alejandro called out, keeping the man's attention focused squarely on him. "The encrypted transmission went out to federal headquarters three seconds ago. The perimeter is already surrounded."
Rossi sneered, raising his pistol toward Alejandro's chest. "A bluff. And even if it's true, you won't live to see the—"
Before Rossi could finish his sentence, Valeria lunged forward from behind the rack with terrifying speed.
She swung the heavy steel wrench with all her might, striking Rossi's wrist with a sickening crack.
The pistol went flying across the concrete floor, clattering into the darkness.
Rossi roared in pain, spinning around and backhanding Valeria across the face, sending her crashing against the metal server racks.

"Valeria!" Alejandro screamed, pure fury overriding his fear.
Alejandro launched himself at Rossi like a charging bull, tackling the older man straight through the drywall partition of the server room into the adjacent storage hallway.
