Chapter 7 - The Accomplice"Got the brat," the man growled, dragging a screaming Mateo back toward the north wing master bedroom where Alejandro and Teresa were still locked in a brutal physical struggle.

"Let him go!" Valeria gasped, struggling against the knife at her throat. Realizing she couldn't overpower him with brute strength, she drove her heel down as hard as she could onto the man's instep, throwing her weight backward.
The man swore loudly, his grip slipping just enough for Valeria to wrench her neck free, leaving a thin red scratch across her skin. Without hesitating, she spun around and slammed her elbow into his ribs, sending him stumbling backward against the wall.
Inside the bedroom, Teresa had managed to throw Alejandro off. She scrambled across the floor, grabbing a heavy brass paperweight from the desk, raising it high above her head to strike Alejandro as he lay dazed on the floor.
"Alejandro!" Valeria screamed, diving into the room.
She didn't use a weapon this time. She threw her entire body weight against Teresa's legs, tackling the older woman to the floor just as the heavy brass weight came crashing down, missing Alejandro’s head by mere inches and smashing into the floorboards instead.
The accomplice charged into the room, roaring with fury, reaching down to grab Valeria by her hair and yank her away.

"Boss lady, let's finish them and burn the whole damn house down!" the man snarled, pulling a canister of lighter fluid from his jacket pocket.
Teresa scrambled to her feet, her hair disheveled, her eyes wild with murderous rage. "Do it! Burn it all to ash! No one leaves this house alive!"
