Chapter 6 - The Unraveling BanquetThe day that was supposed to be their wedding day arrived under a heavy, unrelenting New England downpour.

Instead of walking down the aisle in a custom white gown, Emma sat in a sunlit corner café overlooking Boston Harbor, sipping hot cider and reading a book on urban architecture.

Margaret Whitmore sat in her Back Bay parlor, staring at her silent phone in absolute disbelief. Her social standing, her carefully curated guest list of Boston elites, and her son’s fraudulent empire were evaporating in real-time.

Clare Hale had already packed her designer luggage, her apartment lease broken as she desperately tried to distance herself from Ethan before the federal white-collar investigations reached her boutique design firm, which had also received kickbacks from Ethan’s unverified expense accounts.
