Chapter 13 - The Courtroom ShowdownThe federal courtroom was packed to capacity. Reporters and news cameras crowded the hallways, eager for the latest twist in the high-society scandal.

Victoria Vance sat at the defense table in a crisp orange jumpsuit, her hair pulled back into a tight bun, her face devoid of its usual aristocratic makeup. But despite her imprisonment, she still carried an air of arrogant defianceâuntil she saw Elias and me walk through the oak doors.
I walked arm-in-arm with Elias, wearing a tailored navy blazer, my head held high. Behind us walked Marcus, carrying a secure briefcase containing the unassailable digital evidence.
"All rise for the Honorable Judge Thomas," the bailiff announced.
As the judge settled into his leather seat, Victoriaâs lead defense attorney immediately stood up, adjusting his tie with practiced confidence.
"Your Honor," the defense lawyer began smoothly, "we move for an immediate dismissal of all charges against Ms. Vance, on the grounds that the primary digital evidence linking her and Dr. Harrison to the logistics wire transfers is heavily compromised and corrupted by internal hospital bias."
Judge Thomas frowned, looking down at the prosecutor. "Mr. District Attorney, how do you respond to the defense's claims of tampered evidence?"
The DA stood up, offering a calm, confident smile. "Your Honor, the prosecution requests ten minutes to submit a supplemental forensic report prepared by Apex Cyber Defense, detailing the exact origin of the network intrusion."
Judge Thomas nodded. "Proceed."
Marcus stepped forward, plugging a secure drive into the courtroomâs presentation display.
Large, high-resolution diagrams lit up the courtroom screens, mapping out the precise IP routing, MAC address spoofing, and the exact physical router serial number located inside Victoria Vanceâs private penthouse.
"As you can see, Your Honor," Marcus spoke clearly into the microphone, "the commands to frame Dr. Adelaide Brooks were executed not from County General Hospital, but remotely from a private terminal registered directly to Victoria Vance, utilizing Dr. Harrison's compromised credentials."

A wave of whispers rippled through the courtroom gallery.
Victoria went completely rigid in her seat. She turned around, staring wildly at her defense attorney, who was frantically shaking his head, realizing they had walked directly into a well-laid trap.
