Chapter 9 - THE GHOSTS OF PRAGUE SILOThe snow-covered plains of the Czech countryside stretched out beneath us as our tactical stealth helicopter touched down silently half a mile from the abandoned silo.

The night was pitch black, pierced only by the pale moonlight reflecting off the snowdrifts.

Twelve elite shadow-units filed out of the chopper behind me, their black tactical gear blending seamlessly into the winter darkness. We moved like phantoms across the frozen field, closing in on the towering concrete perimeter wall of the silo.

"Perimeter sensors are active," Marcus whispered over the secure comms, crouching beside me behind a concrete barrier. "Motion detectors every ten meters, thermal cameras scanning the roofline."

"Bypass the grid," I ordered. "We go in through the lower drainage tunnels—the same tunnels Viktor and I used to smuggle contraband twenty-five years ago before he got greedy."

We descended into the icy, subterranean runoff pipes. The water was freezing, numbing our boots, but our movement was completely silent.

Ten minutes later, we reached the heavy iron service hatch leading directly into the subterranean chamber beneath the silo. The very chamber where I had supposedly ended Viktor's life a decade and a half ago.

I signaled for breach charges.

Marcus slapped two small, magnetic C4 strips along the hinges of the hatch.

"Ready," Marcus whispered.

"Blow it," I replied.

A muffled thump shook the concrete around us, and the heavy iron door fell inward with a heavy thud.

We swarmed through the breach, weapons raised, ready for a bloodbath.
