Chapter 18 - Fall of the Empire’s ArchitectTwo federal agents flanked the doorway, instantly subduing Julian and slamming him face-first onto the polished mahogany table. The heavy steel handcuffs snapped shut around his wrists with a definitive, ringing click.

"Julian Vance, you are under federal arrest for securities fraud, corporate racketeering, and international money laundering," the lead federal agent announced, reading him his rights as they hauled him upward.
Julian thrashed and screamed as they dragged him past the board members and out toward the grand foyer, his expensive trench coat dragging across the floor.
Old Arthur sat silently in his wheelchair, staring at me with a mixture of profound shock, fear, and absolute, grudging respect. For the first time in his life, the patriarch of the Caldwell empire realized he wasn't looking at a helpless maid or an accidental heir. He was looking at a true ruler.
