Arthur Caldwell sat at the head of the heavy mahogany table, flanked by two senior partners from Boston’s top legal firm. Richard sat quietly in a corner seat, stripped of his executive privileges pending a complete corporate audit of how much corporate funds Vanessa had secretly embezzled over the years.
The chief attorney cleared his throat, adjusting his glasses.
"We are gathered here today to officially execute the amended 2004 codicil of the Caldwell Family Trust, following the conclusive DNA verification of Miss Grace Miller—legitimately registered at birth as Grace Eleanor Caldwell, sole surviving direct descendant of Arthur Caldwell."
The attorney slid a thick stack of documents across the table toward me.
