Chapter 19 - The Yellow Door

The string quartet began to play a soft, timeless melody as the oak doors of the house swung wide open.

Ethan stood at the end of the stone aisle beneath a handmade wooden arbor draped in white jasmine and green ivy. He wore a sharp navy tuxedo, his silver-threaded hair neat, his hazel eyes shining with a raw, overwhelming emotion as he watched his daughter walk down the path first, scattering white petals across the grass.

And then, Hannah appeared.

Walking out through the bright yellow front door of the house they had built together, she stepped into the sunlight.

Time seemed to slow down. Five years of pain, a freezing night under a Manhattan overpass, a stolen photograph found in a woolen mitten, and a corporate war fought in the dark—all of it collapsed into this single, miraculous moment.

Ethan stepped forward to meet her, taking her hand in his strong, steady grip.

"You look breathtaking," he whispered, his voice thick with unshed tears.

"You clean up alright yourself, Mr. Mercer," Hannah smiled, her eyes bright with tears of absolute joy.

The minister smiled warmly, looking out over the quiet gathering.

"Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today not to celebrate a beginning, but to bear witness to a miracle—a family that found its way home through the dark."
