Chapter 22 - The Midnight Skyline

At 7:30 PM, Ethan’s private car pulled up not to a high-end Manhattan restaurant, but to the rooftop of the newly renovated Mercer Center in downtown Queens—the very district where Hannah had lived in a cramped basement apartment five years prior.
The rooftop had been transformed into an intimate private dining space enclosed by glass panels, overlooking the glittering expanse of the city skyline. String lights twinkled overhead, and a small table was set with candles and simple, elegant dishes.
Hannah walked out onto the glass-floored terrace, breathless. "Ethan... how did you manage this?"
"I bought the naming rights last month, but I kept the top floor vacant," Ethan said, pulling out a chair for her. "I wanted you to look down at Queens and remember where we started—not with shame, but with pride. Because without the woman who lived down there, the man sitting here tonight wouldn't exist."
May you like
Hannah sat down, her eyes shimmering with unshed tears. She reached across the table, taking his hand. "You're getting dangerously romantic, Mr. Mercer."
"I have a lot of lost time to make up for," Ethan smiled softly.
