Chapter 25 - The Frame-Up

Ethan stepped forward, his heart hammering against his ribs. He took the leather ledger from Chloe’s trembling hands.
The brass clasp was rusted, but with a sharp pull, it snapped open. Inside were handwritten notes, bank transfer receipts, and polaroid photographs dating back to the exact week Hannah had disappeared.
Hannah stood up, looking over Ethan’s shoulder as he flipped through the pages.
"Look at this entry," Hannah breathed, pointing to a name scrawled in Jocelyn’s sharp, unforgiving cursive.
‘Paid Marcus Vance ten thousand dollars to intercept Hannah’s phone calls and reroute her mail to an unmonitored P.O. Box in Brooklyn. Ethan must believe she chose to abandon him.’
Ethan’s hands shook—not with fear, but with a cold, blinding fury. "She didn't just threaten Hannah. She systematically cut off every lifeline, every message, every attempt to reach out... and made it look like Hannah walked away willingly."

"She told me if I ever spoke about it, she'd ruin my life too," Chloe sobbed quietly, burying her face in her hands. "But when she packed up and left Boca Raton in a hurry last week after losing her lawsuits, she dropped the box in the dumpster behind the administrative office. I knew what she was. I couldn't keep it anymore."
Ethan looked down at Chloe, his expression softening despite the rage boiling inside him. "You did the right thing coming here, Chloe. Lev will ensure you're set up safely in an apartment in Manhattan with a secure job and full protection. No one will ever touch you."
