Adrian typed furiously on his laptop, running the encrypted routing numbers through a global financial database he still had backdoor access to. A secure portal flashed green on the screen, requiring a biometric authorization key that matched the Whitmore bloodline.

Without hesitating, Adrian pressed his thumb against the USB scanner.

The screen flickered, bypassing three layers of military-grade encryption, and displayed a single digital file: a birth certificate and a sealed adoption decree.
