Chapter 16 - Restoring the Foundation

Hook: With the corporate war won, Adrian begins the true work of healing the wounds of the past.

Six months after the boardroom showdown, the transformation of Whitmore Infrastructure was complete. The company had been successfully restructured as a worker-owned cooperative, giving every single employee a direct stake in its profits and governance.

The sprawling stone estate outside Boston was no longer a symbol of isolated wealth. Its grand halls were now filled with the sound of laughter, running children, and community meetings. The old servants' quarters had been completely renovated into modern, comfortable homes for families in need, starting with Marissa and her mother.

On a warm spring morning, Adrian stood on the back veranda, looking out over the flourishing gardens where workers and community members shared coffee and discussed upcoming infrastructure projects.

Marissa walked out onto the stone patio, holding two steaming mugs of coffee. She handed one to Adrian, her eyes bright and filled with a quiet serenity.

"The final audit report from the Department of Labor just came in," Marissa said softly. "Every single wrongfully terminated worker from the last thirty years has been fully compensated with back pay and pensions."
