That evening, the estate was bathed in the golden glow of twilight lanterns. The community dinner had wrapped up, and the grounds were finally quiet, save for the gentle rustle of oak leaves in the spring breeze.

Adrian led Marissa out to the old stone gazebo overlooking the sprawling valley. Inside the gazebo, a small wooden table was set with fresh wildflowers and a single, unlit candle.

Marissa turned to him, a playful smile touching her lips. "Is this another board meeting, Mr. Whitmore?"

Adrian chuckled softly, stepping closer to her and taking both of her hands in his. The carefree confidence of his billionaire past was entirely gone, replaced by a deep, grounded sincerity.

"No, Marissa. This is a personal matter," Adrian said, his voice steady and clear. "When I followed you home that rainy morning, I thought I was just doing a good deed. I didn't know I was walking toward the only person who would ever show me what life is truly about."
