Chapter 10 - The Ultimate Revelation

Ethan didn't wait. He spun around on his heel and sprinted up the grand staircase, taking three steps at a time, leaving his mother standing frozen in the foyer.
He threw open the door to the private suite to find absolute chaos. Hannah was standing beside the bassinet, swaying unsteadily on her feet, clutching their baby girl to her chest while tears streamed down her pale face. The surgical stitches in her lower abdomen had torn open under the sudden physical strain, staining her oversized shirt with a bright, expanding circle of crimson blood.
"Ethan..." she gasped, her eyes rolling back as her knees buckled under her. "The baby... she stopped breathing..."
Ethan dove across the room, catching Hannah before she hit the floor and gently lowering her to the plush rug. He snatched the baby girl from her arms, checking her airway with lightning-fast surgical precision. A tiny glob of formula milk had blocked her immature airway. With a swift, practiced motion, he cleared her throat, and the infant instantly let out a loud, furious wail of pure life.
"She's fine! She's breathing!" Ethan yelled over the crying, pressing his hand against Hannah’s abdomen to stem the bleeding. "Marcus! Get up here with the emergency kit right now!"
As the private nurse and medical assistant rushed into the room with medical gear, the heavy oak door swung open wider.
Victoria Caldwell stood in the doorway, staring in absolute shock at the blood on the floor, the crying twins in their bassinets, and her powerful, untouchable son kneeling on the rug, holding a half-conscious warehouse worker in his arms.
For the first time in her life, the great matriarch of the Caldwell dynasty was completely speechless.
Ethan looked up, his eyes locking onto his mother with a fierce, burning defiance that scorched the air between them.
"Look at her, Mother," Ethan snarled, his voice trembling with a lifetime of repressed fury. "Look at the woman you framed. Look at the grandchildren you almost had killed with your lies."
Victoria stepped into the room, her knees suddenly feeling weak as she looked down at the tiny baby girl crying in Ethan’s arm—an infant who possessed the unmistakable, aristocratic Caldwell eyes staring right back up at her.
"Ethan..." Victoria whispered, her voice cracking for the first time in decades. "I... I didn't know..."
"No," Ethan said coldly, lifting Hannah gently into his arms to carry her back to the bed. "You only knew cruelty. But that ends tonight."
He laid Hannah down, barking orders at the medical team to close her stitches while he held her hand—a grip so tight and fierce she knew he would never let go again.
