Chapter 18 - The Unveiling

Three weeks after the arrests, Michael stood before the executive board of his newly restructured firm. The cowards and corrupt stakeholders had been legally purged, replaced by innovative, ethical leaders who shared his vision.
“Our primary focus moving forward,” Michael announced, his voice carrying absolute authority across the boardroom, “is sustainable community development, fair labor practices, and absolute transparency across all domestic and corporate contracts managed under our trust.”
A round of applause echoed through the room. The transition was complete. He had not only saved his father’s legacy; he had completely redefined it.
After the meeting, Michael drove straight to the downtown medical clinic where Sophie was completing her second week of shifts. She was in her element—doing honest, meaningful work that healed people.
When Sophie finally walked out into the lobby, her face lit up when she saw him standing there holding a single, unpretentious white flower.
