One year later, the Buckhead estate bore no resemblance to the cold, sterile mansion it once was.

The heavy iron gates remained open to friends, family, and neighbors. The manicured lawns played host to weekend barbecues where corporate executives and nursing students sat side by side, sharing stories without pretense or hierarchy.

There was no grand, three-hundred-guest society wedding with forced smiles and hidden daggers.

Instead, the ceremony took place right in the sprawling backyard of the estate under a canopy of ancient oak trees, surrounded only by fifty of the people who mattered most: Grandma Margaret, Ethan, close friends from the clinic, and loyal staff who were treated as family.

Sophie wore a simple, elegant ivory dress that radiated timeless beauty. When Michael stood at the altar waiting for her, he didn't think about status, corporate mergers, or societal expectations. As they exchanged vows under the golden afternoon sun, Michael slipped a simple platinum band onto her finger.

“I love you,” Michael whispered, his voice thick with emotion.
