Chapter 6 - THE LOCKED NURSERY OPENSPanic clawing at his throat, Roman abandoned the hospital room and drove like a madman back to the penthouse. The snow was still falling, turning the city streets into a slushy maze. He burst through the private elevator doors into his luxury home, calling out frantically for his head of security.

Silence answered him. The penthouse was deserted. The staff had vanished.
He ran down the hallway toward the master nursery—the room with the biometric locks he had bragged about installing just weeks ago. He slammed his thumb against the scanner. Red light. Error: User Credentials Revoked.

"Open the damn door!" Roman roared, slamming his fists against the reinforced wood. He pulled out his master override code on his phone, typing it in with frantic speed. The system didn't just reject it; it triggered an automated security lockdown. A mechanical voice echoed smoothly from the hallway speaker: “Administrative rights transferred to M. Vale. Welcome, Administrator.”
With a soft click, the heavy nursery door swung open. Roman stumbled inside, expecting to find clothes, cribs, and baby toys. Instead, the room was completely gutted. Every piece of luxury furniture, every custom bassinet, and every expensive asset he had ever bought was gone. In the center of the empty hardwood floor sat a single cardboard box containing all of his old college belongings—and a printed copy of the prenuptial agreement he had forced Mara to sign, now stamped with a court order rendering it null and void due to hidden criminal assets.
