Inside sat a single, dust-free leather folder, a modern USB flash drive, and a handwritten letter sealed in an envelope bearing the crest of the Sterling family.
Roberto's hands shook slightly as he reached out and picked up the letter. He broke the wax seal, unfolded the heavy parchment, and began to read aloud under the dim vault light:
