Chapter 3 - The Fatal Stamp

The temperature in the music room dropped to absolute zero. The silence that followed was heavy enough to crush bone.

Luca slowly rose to his feet. He picked up the six-page declaration of medical incapacity from the Persian rug, his fingers turning the pages with deliberate, agonizing slowness. His eyes scanned the legal jargon, the fabricated medical exemptions, and the comprehensive transfer clauses that signed away every single commercial shipping asset, real estate deed, and trust fund controlled by the Moretti family—straight into an offshore shell corporation registered under Vivien Cole’s private name.

"Vivien," Luca’s voice was barely a whisper, yet it echoed through the room with the bone-chilling weight of a death sentence.

Vivien blinked, her tears pausing for a fraction of a second as she caught the unnatural cadence of his tone. "L-Luca? What is it? We need to call the police, she’s—"

"My mother’s right side has been paralyzed since April," Luca interrupted, his voice terrifyingly flat. He turned around, holding the papers out toward her like an executioner’s axe. "Explain to me how a woman who cannot lift a spoon managed to press her right thumb onto six distinct notarization lines with enough downward pressure to leave a complete fingerprint."

Color vanished from Vivien’s face so fast it looked as though the blood had been drained from her body. Her carefully constructed facade cracked down the middle. "I... she... she must have used her left hand! Or... or Naomi forced her!"

"My mother is left-handed," Luca said softly, taking a slow step toward her. "And she spent thirty years playing Bach concertos on these exact keys. She knows the difference between an ink pad and a signature block. You lied."
