Chapter 4 - The Earpiece of Death

Panic finally broke through Vivien’s manufactured tears, replaced by the feral survival instinct of a cornered predator. "Luca, listen to me! Your empire is vulnerable! My family has connections, we can—"

"Boss," Marco said, his voice urgent and breathless. "We just got word from the security detail monitoring the riverfront negotiation."
Luca didn't take his eyes off Vivien. "Speak."
"It was an ambush," Marco reported, his jaw tight. "The private dining room where you were supposed to meet the rival syndicate... a massive C-4 explosive charge detonated precisely three minutes after we left the building. The entire floor is gone. The room spun into a surreal, suffocating stillness.
Luca stared at Vivien. The pieces locked together with mathematical cruelty. The fabricated domestic emergency, the locked music room, the urgent demand for a medical proxy transfer, and the timing of the riverfront explosion. She had planned to execute the legal theft of the assets and ensure Luca was blown to ash at the exact same hour.
