Chapter 16 - The Blueprint of VengeanceThe command center buzzed with controlled urgency as analysts tapped furiously at keyboards and decrypted intercepted communications. David sat at a secondary terminal, watching as lines of financial code and asset transfers scrolled down the monitor—the very data he had innocently analyzed years ago, now weaponized against the syndicate.

"Sterling isn't just a corporate executive," Agent Vance explained, leaning over David's shoulder and pointing to a secure personnel file on the main screen. "He is the primary western director of the Obsidian Syndicate. For over a decade, he has used Vanguard Financial as a front to launder funds for illicit biotech research—including Project Chimera."

Clara stepped closer, her face hardening with cold fury. "And the facility where they manufactured those creatures? Where is it located?"

"Right beneath Vanguard Financial's corporate headquarters downtown," Agent Vance replied grimly. "There's an underground subterranean laboratory accessible only via the executive elevator shaft, secured by biometric authorization codes that only Sterling—or someone with deep administrative clearance—can bypass."

David looked up from the screen, locking eyes with his wife. The realization settled over them like heavy armor. They couldn't run anymore. As long as Sterling and the syndicate drew breath, their family would never be safe in the light of day.

"We have to go back," David said quietly, his voice carrying a resolute strength that surprised even himself. "We finish this tonight."

Agent Vance shook her head. "It's a suicide mission, David. Sterling's headquarters is a fortress guarded by heavily armed private security forces."

"Not if we use their own system against them," Clara countered, a brilliant, dangerous spark igniting in her eyes. She turned to the computer console and began typing a rapid sequence of system override commands. "David still has active executive credentials in the financial database. If we spoof his digital signature and broadcast a system-wide security alert from the basement level, we can trigger an automated facility lockdown, trapping Sterling's private guards inside the lower sectors while we bypass the main lobby."

David stared at her, then offered a grim, confident nod. "Let's do it."
