Chapter 37 - The Next Horizon
Spring returned to the estate with an explosion of color—vibrant tulips lining the gravel pathways, cherry blossoms blooming along the private access road, and the crisp morning air filled with the songs of nesting birds. Sophia, now fully adjusted to her preschool routine and brimming with endless curiosity, spent her afternoons exploring the expansive gardens with her yellow blanket trailing behind her like a royal cape.
Inside his study, Dante was reviewing architectural blueprints for a new community youth center being funded entirely through the Rickai Foundation—his final step in completely transitioning his wealth into public good. The door was open, as it always was now, and footsteps approached with a light, familiar rhythm.
Lena walked in, holding a small, sealed white envelope bearing an official university seal. Her expression was a mix of quiet excitement and nervous anticipation.
"What's this?" Dante asked, setting down his pen and looking up.
"My enrollment acceptance letter," Lena said, her voice trembling slightly with emotion. "For the evening business administration program at the regional university. Classes start next month."
Dante stood up immediately, walking around the desk. Instead of offering a polite nod, he closed the distance between them and pulled her into a warm, fierce embrace, lifting her slightly off her feet as a genuine laugh escaped his lips.
"I knew you'd get in," Dante said, setting her down gently and looking into her glowing brown eyes. "You're the hardest-working person I've ever known."

"You don't need my belief, Lena," Dante replied softly, resting his forehead gently against hers. "You've earned every single step of this yourself. But I will always be right here, cheering you on from the front row."
