Chapter 26 - The Final Sentencing

Two months later, the federal district court in Denver was once again packed to capacity for the trial of Richard Sterling.

This time, there was no drama, no suspense, and no room for legal loopholes. Armed with the encrypted hard drives, audio recordings of his threats in the alleyway, and the recovered cyber-espionage logs from his home server, the prosecution presented an airtight case of domestic terrorism, extortion, and corporate sabotage.

Richard sat at the defense table, his head bowed, his spirit completely broken.

When the judge handed down a sentence of thirty-five years without parole in a federal supermax facility, Richard didn't even look up.

As the marshals led him away in chains, I sat in the front row of the gallery, my posture rigid, my expression a mask of absolute, unshakeable power.
