Chapter 6 - Shadows in Zurich

While the boardroom celebrated a new era of Vance leadership, thousands of miles away in a damp, anonymous safehouse on the outskirts of Zurich, a disgraced woman stared obsessively at a tablet screen.

Elena’s hair was unwashed, her designer clothes replaced by a cheap gray hoodie. Her bail had been denied, but through a network of illicit offshore bribes managed by a remaining loyalist, she had temporarily evaded immediate extradition—for now.

Her finger shook as she watched the live stream of Chloe accepting the corporate leadership award. The applause thunderous, the flashbulbs blinding.

"Bitch," Elena hissed, throwing a coffee mug against the concrete wall, shattering it into a million jagged pieces—mirroring the exact crystal glass she had dropped months ago. "You think you won? You haven't seen the endgame yet."

She pulled out a burner phone and dialed a ten-digit encrypted number that hadn't been active in five years. It rang twice before a raspy, distorted voice answered on the other end.

"Speak."

"I need a liquidation team," Elena whispered, her eyes wide with manic desperation. "Not corporate. Not legal. I want the Vance portfolio entirely vaporized, starting with the girl's private estate in the Swiss Alps."

A slow, chilling laugh echoed through the speaker. "The price just doubled, Mrs. Vance. And your collateral has to clear tonight."
