Chapter 5 - The Mastermind in the Shadows

Valeria stood up, her face twisted in desperation. "Alejandro, listen to me! Your mother promised me everything! But I actually grew to love you—"
"Silence!" Alejandro roared, slamming his palm onto the table, shattering a glass goblet. "You helped lock my pregnant wife out in the cold. You forged legal documents using my company's seal. That isn't love. That’s fraud, extortion, and conspiracy!"
"Do you really think you can destroy us, Alejandro?" Doña Elena said calmly, dabbing her lips with a napkin. "Look closely at the corporate restructuring papers you signed last month when you were 'grieving.' You transferred fifty-one percent of the holding voting rights to the family trust. A trust that I control."
Alejandro froze.
"You may own your personal assets, my son," Doña Elena continued with a cruel smile. "But Montero Enterprises—the hotels, the construction projects, the billions in assets—belongs to me. If you bring that pathetic girl back into this family, I will vote you out as CEO by noon. You will be penniless."
"Then vote," Alejandro said without hesitation. "Because I would rather burn your empire to the ground than let you touch my wife or my daughter again."
As Alejandro turned to leave, Valeria smirked coldly. "You're too late anyway, Alejandro. Do you really think Lucía is safe in that penthouse?"

Alejandro’s blood ran cold. He pulled out his phone—his security team leader was calling him.
"Sir!" the guard’s panicked voice blared through the speaker. "Someone cut the power to the penthouse floor! There's an emergency vehicle outside—they claim to be child protective services accompanied by police!"
