Chapter 10 - The New World OrderThree months later.

The Moretti estate was heavily fortified—not just with armed men and armored walls, but with an army of cyber-security experts from five different intelligence agencies. Nothing could get in. Nothing could get out.
Adrien sat in his leather armchair in the ground-floor study, swirling a glass of amber whiskey. On the baby monitor beside him, Theo, Miles, and Nora were laughing, playing with wooden blocks, entirely normal, healthy, and happy.
Dr. Cole had run every neurological test known to modern science fifty times over. Their brain scans were clean. The pulsing blue veins had vanished the night Sophie disappeared. They were just normal toddlers again.
And yet, Adrien couldn't shake the feeling of being watched.
He looked down at his desk. Sitting right in the center of the mahogany wood—where no one had been for the last hour, and where all the doors were double-locked from the inside—was a small, faded cloth doll with one loose button eye.
Adrien froze. His glass stopped halfway to his mouth.
Slowly, deliberately, he reached out and picked up the doll.
The fabric was warm, as if it had just been held by small, human hands. He turned it over, his heart hammering against his ribs.
On the back of the doll, stitched in neat, delicate red thread that hadn't been there before, was a new message:
"THANK YOU FOR THE WATCH. UNLOCKING PHASE THREE IN 3... 2... 1..."
Before Adrien could drop the toy, every television, computer, and smartphone in the mansion simultaneously lit up. Millions of devices across the globe—from Tokyo to New York, from underground bunkers to presidential war rooms—went black.
And then, a child’s sweet, innocent giggle echoed from every speaker in the world.
Adrien walked slowly to the French doors, pulling them open to look out at the city skyline. Across the sprawling metropolis, thousands of digital billboards flickered, shedding their advertisements to display a single, simple image:
A little girl with dark hair holding a cloth doll, smiling out at a world that didn't know it had already been conquered.

Adrien lowered his head, took a slow sip of his whiskey, and realized the most terrifying truth of all:
They weren't hiding from the mafia anymore.
