Sophie turned a page, her dark eyes scanning the complex mathematical equations in a fraction of a second.

Adrien walked out onto the veranda, carrying a tray of iced lemonade. He set it on the wooden table, wiping his hands on a kitchen towel, and looked out over the sunlit gardens where his family was thriving.
