Chapter 17 - A New Dawn in the UnderworldTwo weeks later.

The sun rose over the Italian Alps, casting a golden, warm glow across the sprawling courtyards of the Moretti estate. The shattered gates had been replaced—not with reinforced steel and biometric turrets, but with elegant wrought iron vines and blooming climbing roses.
Adrien Moretti sat on the veranda, holding a cup of black coffee in one hand while watching the three triplets chase each other across the manicured lawn.
Theo was laughing, his tiny legs pumping as he chased a red rubber ball. Miles and Nora were tumbling over each other in the grass, squealing with absolute, unadulterated joy. There were no wires, no medical monitors, no pulsing blue veins beneath their skin. They were just normal, chaotic, beautiful toddlers.
And sitting on the marble steps a few feet away, quietly cross-legged in a soft pink cotton dress, was Sophie.
She wasn't holding a cloth doll today. She was holding a wooden puzzle, methodically and silently placing each piece into its exact, perfect slot without a single moment of hesitation.
Elena stepped out onto the veranda, carrying a tray of fresh pastries and smiling warmly. "Breakfast is ready, kids! Come wash your hands!"
The triplets scrambled across the grass, shouting and laughing, scrambling up the steps to bury their sticky hands into Elena’s apron. Sophie stood up quietly, brushed off her dress, and walked over to take a warm croissant from the tray.
Adrien watched them all, taking a slow sip of his coffee.
The underworld had changed. The old families—the cartels, the syndicates, the shadow brokers—were gone. Their bank accounts had vanished overnight, their communications intercepted, their empires dismantled by an invisible hand that ruled from the cloud. The global mafia didn't exist anymore.

And Adrien Moretti? He wasn't a ruthless crime lord sitting on a throne of blood and bullets.
He was just a father.
