Chapter 15 - The Ultimatum"Kill her! Burn the room! Kill them all!" Vance screamed, clutching his smoking, mangled stump of an arm, blood pouring freely onto the ruined Persian rug.

The mercenaries raised their rifles, their plasma coils charging up for a coordinated, room-clearing barrage that would turn everyone inside into ash.
Sophie didn't blink. She simply raised both arms and whispered a single word:
"Halt."
The entire room went dead.
Not just quiet—frozen.
The mercenaries’ boots stopped mid-step. The smoking casings ejected from their rifles hovered in mid-air like frozen raindrops. The dust motes dancing in the shaft of moonlight froze in place. Even Vance’s frantic breathing stopped, his mouth hanging open in a silent scream of rage.
Only Adrien, Marcus, and Sophie retained their kinetic freedom.
Adrien stood up slowly from behind the coffee table, his lungs burning with the smell of scorched ozone and fear. He looked around the room at the floating bullets and frozen men, then down at the little girl who held the entire world in the palm of her hand.
"You didn't just come back to play with dolls, did you?" Adrien asked, his voice steady despite the adrenaline roaring in his veins.
Sophie turned her head, her dark eyes softening just a fraction as she looked up at the mafia boss. "No, Adrien. I came to make a trade."
"A trade?"
"Viktor and his Vanguard have been trying to weaponize my code for five years. As long as they exist, as long as governments and cartels think they can capture or control the network, there will never be peace," Sophie said, walking over to where Vance stood frozen in time like a grotesque wax figure. She reached out and tapped Vance gently on his chrome-plated temple with one finger.
"What are you going to do to him?" Adrien asked.
"I'm going to do what any good programmer does when a virus corrupts the system," Sophie said softly. "I'm going to quarantine him."
With a gentle tap, a wave of electric blue light rippled across Vance’s chrome plating. The man's eyes rolled back into his head, his body trembling violently as millions of lines of data were downloaded, scrubbed, and rewritten directly into his neural cortex in less than a second.

When the light faded, Vance collapsed to the floor like a puppet with cut strings. He was breathing, his heart was beating, but his eyes were completely blank—a living, breathing hard drive formatted to factory defaults, staring endlessly into a white void.
"He won't bother you anymore," Sophie said, turning back to Adrien. "And neither will the Vanguard. I've deleted their offshore accounts, exposed their satellite networks to global intelligence agencies, and redirected their nuclear launch codes into the Mariana Trench."
