A single document was open on the screen. It wasn't encrypted. It wasn't hidden behind a firewall. It was just a plain text file, typed in neat, precise characters that hadn't been there when he closed the computer hours ago.
Adrien leaned forward and read the words on the screen:
“Dear Adrien,
You were worried about the children. You were worried about the world. But you forgot the most important rule of architecture:
To build a fortress, you don't need high walls or heavy iron gates. You just need to make sure the people inside have a reason to stay.
