The ink on the marriage certificate was barely dry when the digital landscape of Wall Street began to ripple with hidden turbulence. While James and Rebecca celebrated their new beginning in the Tribeca penthouse, a series of automated security alarms flashed silently on the private terminal in James’s home study. Julian Vance, despite being stripped of his title and facing federal investigation, had left behind a digital landmine: a dormant shell company operating out of Zurich, siphoning off the last liquid reserves of Carter Enterprises’ secondary accounts.

James didn't panic. He poured a glass of single malt, his green eyes reflecting the glow of three multi-monitor displays. He tapped his communicator.

"Marcus, wake up. We have a ghost in the system."

"On it, Boss," Marcus replied, his voice raspy with sleep. "I'm tracking the IP. It’s bouncing through three proxy servers in the Cayman Islands. But... it’s not Julian typing. Someone else is pulling his strings."

James stared at the lines of cascading code. If Julian was just a puppet, who was the master? The answer would redefine everything they thought they had won.
