Chapter 12 - THE EMERGENCY WAR ROOMBy 9:00 PM, the executive suite had been converted into a high-security war room. Spread across the massive glass conference table were physical printouts of bank transfers, offshore corporate filings, and encrypted chat logs recovered by our cyber-security team. The air smelled of cold black coffee and burning tension.

Evelyn paced back and forth, her heels clicking a rhythmic, frantic beat against the floor. "If Arthur Cole executes his acquisition rights at the opening bell tomorrow, he will control fifty-one percent of the voting shares. He will strip the company of its assets, fire the entire executive board—starting with me—and leave you holding the legal liability for the initial audit leak."

"He's using my name as the primary leverage," I muttered, staring at a bank statement showing a massive wire transfer routed through a Cayman Islands account directly linked to my father’s supposed "rehab clinic." "He set me up to look like an accomplice from day one. If the federal investigators trace those accounts, they won't just see a rogue board; they'll see a family conspiracy."

"Which means we strike first," Evelyn declared, stopping her pacing and slamming her palm flat against the glass table. The sharp sound made me look up. Her eyes were blazing with a fierce, unbreakable resolve. "We don't wait for him to launch his buyout at 9:30 AM. We call an emergency emergency shareholders' meeting at midnight. We expose his entire fraudulent paper trail live on the national financial network."

"At midnight?" I stared at her, astonished. "Evelyn, half the major institutional investors are asleep, and the SEC will require manual authorization for an emergency override."

A slow, dangerous smile crept across Evelyn’s face—the exact same expression she had worn when she walked into my hotel room three months ago.

"Let them wake up," she whispered. "We are going to burn his entire empire to the ground before he even has a chance to light his match."
