Chapter 6 - THE COUP DE GRÂCEThe ballroom erupted into chaos. Shouts of outrage collided with frantic whispers as board members scrambled to check their phones, realizing their digital footprints had been completely exposed. Sterling looked like he was about to faint, clutching the edge of a mahogany table as his color drained entirely.

Richard lunged forward, desperate to snatch the microphone from my hands, but two local resort security guards—summoned discreetly by Evelyn ten minutes prior—intercepted him mid-stride, pinning his arms behind his back with practiced efficiency.
"You planted this! It's forged! It's a digital fabrication!" Richard shrieked, thrashing against the guards as he was dragged away from the stage. "Evelyn is ruining the company! Stop him!"
The doors at the back of the ballroom slammed open, but it wasn't more security—it was federal corporate investigators accompanied by local authorities, their badges gleaming under the bright lights. They walked with an unhurried, terrifying certainty, heading straight for the board members' table.
Evelyn walked up the steps of the dais, her dark silk gown sweeping the floor with regal elegance. She stood beside me at the podium, her presence commanding the entire room. She didn't look at the chaos below; she looked out at the terrified faces of the remaining conspirators who had planned to strip her authority by Monday morning.

"The audit is complete, gentlemen," Evelyn announced into the mic, her voice cutting through the noise like a scythe. "Effective immediately, all dissenting board members involved in this hostile financial manipulation are suspended pending criminal investigation. The restructuring of this firm starts tonight."
The silence that followed was absolute. The coup had failed. The hunters had become the hunted. And standing right beside the most powerful CEO in the country was the senior analyst they had underestimated.
