Elena didn't wait for the local police or her private security detail to clear the perimeter. Leaving the girls safely locked inside the VIP panic room with Martha, she strode briskly down the service corridor toward the underground loading docks, her stiletto heels echoing like gunfire.
She opened a secure tactical comms unit built into her Cartier bracelet.
"Agent Vance, the sniper is positioned in the abandoned tower at 4th and Lexington. Thermal imaging should pinpoint his heat signature right about... now."
"Already on it, Elena," Vance’s voice crackled through the encrypted earpiece. "Tactical unit is breaching the stairwell from the basement and the roof simultaneously. Do not engage him alone."
