Chapter 6 - The Glass Shatters

The private tarmac at Teterboro Airport was drenched in a cold, relentless drizzle. Floodlights from three black federal SUVs cut through the fog, illuminating the sleek, expensive fuselage of Grant’s private jet—the very symbol of his planned escape.

Grant was dragged out of the Maybach by two federal agents, his expensive Italian leather shoes skidding across the wet tarmac. His suit jacket was rumpled, his hair disheveled, the untouchable titan of Wall Street reduced to a sweating, desperate fugitive.

Standing at the bottom of the aircraft’s mobile staircase was Elena.

She wore a long camel-colored coat draped over her shoulders, exactly as she had the night she collapsed, but there was no exhaustion in her posture now. She stood tall, her gaze steady, unrelenting, and absolute.

"Elena!" Grant shouted, twisting against the agents holding his arms. "This is a misunderstanding! The board will never stand for this—we can settle this quietly, like business partners! Think of the girls—"

"Don't you ever say their names," Elena interrupted. Her voice wasn't loud, but it carried across the tarmac with the lethal precision of a sniper’s bullet.

She walked slowly up to him, stopping just inches away. The contrast was staggering: Grant, frantic and broken; Elena, calm, composed, and radiating absolute power.

"You thought you could buy my life, sign away my rights, and leave my daughters motherless while you ran off with your offshore mistress," Elena said softly, her eyes narrowing. "You forgot one fundamental rule of the Holloway empire, Grant: I didn't marry into the money. I built the vault."

She raised her right hand—the same hand that had gripped the assassin’s wrist just hours ago—and pressed a small digital controller.

With a deafening roar, the engines of the private jet behind them suddenly locked down, sealing internal fuel valves and dropping safety barriers across the boarding ramp. At the same moment, notifications pinged simultaneously on every phone belonging to Grant’s primary investors around the globe: All corporate accounts seized. Assets liquidated.
