Chapter 7 - The Final Audit

Forty-eight hours later, the penthouse apartment was silent, save for the soft patter of rain against the floor-to-ceiling glass windows.

The federal raid was over. The media storm had reached a fever pitch, branding the fall of Grant Holloway as the corporate scandal of the decade. Grant sat in a maximum-security federal holding cell downtown, facing a minimum of thirty years for corporate fraud, asset concealment, and conspiracy to commit murder.

Inside the penthouse nursery, Chloe, Mia, and Sophie were fast asleep in their white canopy beds, their breathing deep and peaceful, wrapped in the warmth of security that could never be bought with stolen money.

Elena stood by the window, holding a warm cup of tea. Her reflection in the glass showed a woman reborn—no longer a victim of a gilded cage, but the undisputed queen of her own destiny.

The door behind her clicked open. Martha stepped in quietly, carrying a sealed manila envelope.

"The final transfer documents have cleared through the Swiss courts, Mrs. Holloway," Martha whispered respectfully. "Everything is back where it belongs."

Elena turned, taking the envelope without opening it. She looked toward the hallway where the faint, distant sound of a hospital monitor beep—a recording she kept on her phone as a reminder—played softly on a loop.

"Good," Elena said quietly, walking toward her daughters' room to tuck them in for the night. "Let the audit begin."
