Chapter 8 - The Secret Vault

While the media focused on the billions seized from Grant’s offshore accounts, federal auditors stumbled upon a locked basement sub-level beneath the Holloway family’s sprawling Hamptons estate—a space that didn't appear on any municipal architectural blueprint.
Agent Vance personally led the tactical team down the narrow, biometric-locked spiral staircase. The walls were lined with reinforced titanium, and the air smelled of ozone and aged paper.
Inside sat rows of safety deposit boxes containing physical bearer bonds, gold bullion, and a series of private journals belonging not to Grant, but to his late father, Arthur Holloway Sr.—the true architect of the family fortune.
As Elena flipped through the yellowed pages of the patriarch’s journal beneath the harsh light of a tactical flashlight, her breath hitched.
The journals detailed a dark history of corporate takeovers, engineered bankruptcies, and—most shockingly—the mysterious, untimely death of Elena’s own father twenty years prior, who had been Grant’s original business partner before his sudden, fatal "accidental" drowning.
Grant hadn't just stolen her life and her money; he had inherited a dynasty built entirely on the murder of her own flesh and blood.
"My God," Agent Vance whispered, shining his flashlight on a hidden compartment behind a portrait of the elder Holloway. Inside lay a second set of divorce papers—dated twenty-five years ago—intended for Grant's mother, who had mysteriously vanished into a private psychiatric facility just weeks before signing away her estate.
Elena closed the journal with a sharp thud that echoed off the concrete walls. The game had just changed from a corporate hostile takeover to a blood vendetta.
"Agent Vance," Elena said, her voice dropping an octave into a tone of absolute, chilling resolution. "Cancel the freeze on his federal transfer. Move him out of maximum security."
May you like
"Move him? To where, Mrs. Holloway?" Vance asked, frowning in confusion.
"To the Hamptons property," Elena replied, her eyes cold as ice. "If he wants to inherit his family’s legacy, he needs to experience the foundation it was built on."
