Chapter 14 - The Standoff at MidnightBefore Koslov’s men could level their barrels, Alexander was already standing, a heavy automatic weapon drawn with terrifying speed, pressed firmly against the center of Koslov's forehead.

Around the room, half a dozen men in tailored suits—our elite security detail disguised as dealers and waiters—simultaneously raised their weapons, locking onto every Bratva soldier in the room.

"You were saying about cheating, Valentin?" Alexander’s voice was velvet steel, calm enough to freeze water.

Koslov’s breath hitched, sweat beading heavily on his forehead. "Alexander... wait. This is a misunderstanding. We can negotiate—"

"Negotiations ended when you left a bullet in my foyer," I said, stepping smoothly around the table. I looked down at the terrified mob boss with absolute detachment. "You thought the Whitmore family was weak because of a public family feud. You forgot that iron is forged in the fire."

Alexander didn't flinch. "The North District warehouses, your shipping lanes, and your offshore accounts now belong to Carter-Whitmore Holdings. Sign the transfer papers on the side table, Valentin, or my wife will get her wish of seeing you put in a hole."

Trembling violently, Koslov picked up a pen with shaking fingers and signed away his entire empire in less than thirty seconds.
