I reached into my clutch and pulled out a single, neatly folded document, sliding it across a velvet-covered cocktail table between us. "You owe us three shipping terminals in Brooklyn, fifty percent of your European import channels, and a public apology for the text message you sent my husband."
Julian glanced down at the paper. As his eyes scanned the text, the polite smile vanished completely from his face. The document outlined a hostile takeover of his primary shell corporations—backed by capital that my father's restructured company and Alexander's syndicates had quietly acquired over the last month.
