Far away from the luxury estates and high-rise boardrooms, in a small, sterile visiting room behind thick plexiglass, Julian Thorne sat alone, staring at his reflection in the glass, realizing that the empire he thought he built was nothing more than a castle made of sand.

And miles away, high above the clouds in Zurich, I raised a glass of champagne to a future built entirely on my own terms.
