The Napa Valley estate was bathed in the warm, radiant glow of late autumn. The vineyards had turned a rich, fiery shade of amber and gold, and the crisp breeze carried the sweet scent of ripening grapes and blooming jasmine.

Inside the grand kitchen, Claire was laughing softly as she helped Owen and Lily—now walking and exploring every corner of the house with boundless energy—stack wooden blocks on the hardwood floor.

The front door opened softly, and Ethan stepped inside, shedding his tailored jacket and loosening his tie.

The twins immediately dropped their blocks and ran across the room, shouting in delight as they collided with Ethan’s legs. Ethan laughed, dropping to his knees and scooping both boys up into his arms in a warm, effortless embrace.

Claire walked over, wiping her hands on a kitchen towel, a radiant, peaceful smile gracing her lips.

"You look tired," Claire said gently, brushing a lock of hair from his forehead.

"Just relieved," Ethan replied, resting his cheek against Owen's head while holding Lily close. "Arthur was convicted on all counts this morning. Maximum security, no parole. The federal prosecutor confirmed the entire network is dead."
